About Children with Disability NZ

Children with Disability NZ is a New Zealand registered charity, CC59148, dedicated to creating a more inclusive world for disabled children, families, and communities.

Our Purpose

We believe inclusion should not be an afterthought. It should be part of everyday life.

Every child deserves the chance to play, connect, learn, and belong. Yet across New Zealand, many disabled children still face barriers in playgrounds, schools, and community spaces.

These barriers are not always intentional, but they are real. We exist to help change that.

Who We Are

Children with Disability NZ is built on lived experience, practical understanding, and a strong belief that disabled children deserve better access, better visibility, and better opportunities.

Our work is grounded in real-world experience, not theory. We understand what inclusion looks like when it works, and what happens when it is missing.

What We Do

We focus on practical change that makes a real difference for disabled children and their families.

Advocacy

We speak up for inclusive playgrounds, accessible community spaces, and better decision-making for disabled children.

Resources

We create practical information, guides, stories, and tools that help families, councils, schools, and organisations understand inclusion.

Community

We support a growing network of websites and projects designed to make inclusion easier to understand and easier to act on.

What Makes Us Different

We do not just talk about inclusion. We show how it works in real life.

Our approach is simple: lived experience, practical solutions, and clear guidance that people can use.

Our Vision

We want to help build a New Zealand where playgrounds are inclusive by design, communities are accessible to everyone, and disabled children are seen, valued, and included.

Be Part of the Change

Inclusion does not happen on its own. It happens when people decide it matters.
