Our Digital & Social Media Strategy Children With Disabilities In New Zealand Are Being Heard, Seen, & Empowered To Effect Change:
Our Charity's Online Presence Is Of Great Importance:
Digital and social media strategy Children with disabilities in New Zealand are being heard, seen, and empowered to effect change. My name is Glen McMillan. I am the CEO of Children with Disability New Zealand. We are a New Zealand-based registered charity (CC59148). I am also a website designer. I am seeking to raise funds to meet the charity's cost of software and high-quality, high-speed website hosting, a cost currently paid by our CEO. Our charity's online presence is of great importance.
We have created a professional website full of useful information that is fully optimised for search engine results. For our country's children, we are trying to give hope—hope that all children will be included in play and life in general. For our supporters, we can offer exposure on a high-quality platform. We will be working hard to promote our supporters. Our charity's success can be measured not only by helping our supporters’ products become mainstream but more by the smiles on the faces of the children these products are designed for. Our charity has a strong focus on children's playtime and enjoyment of life. Our digital and social media strategy includes a presence on social media.

Having A Presence On Social Media Can Be Beneficial In Many Ways, Here Are Some Of Our Advantages:
#1 Increased visibility: Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have millions of users, so having a presence on these platforms can help increase your visibility and reach a wider audience.
#2 Improved customer engagement: Social media provides an opportunity for businesses to engage with their customers in a more personal and meaningful way. It can also help businesses receive feedback and respond to customer complaints or inquiries in a timely manner.
#3 Brand awareness: Social media allows businesses to build their brand and increase brand awareness through regular posting and engagement with their followers.
#4 Cost-effective marketing: Compared to traditional forms of advertising, social media marketing is often more cost-effective and can be targeted to specific demographics.
#5 Access to valuable insights: Social media platforms provide valuable insights and data on audience behavior and engagement, which can help businesses make informed decisions about their marketing strategies.
Give Us Some Support! We Want To Make It Our Mission To Give Back To The Community!
I will make sure that our organisation has a strong presence online and on social media as a successful website designer and online publisher. We intend to be proactive in requesting more thought and the installation of accessible playground equipment throughout New Zealand. Together, we can bring lasting effect, genuine change.
We are currently compiling a comprehensive wish list of accessible playground products from various providers because we believe that all kids should have an equal chance to play on playgrounds that feature accessible play. Any interested parties are encouraged to support us, and we are actively looking for partners and sponsors with whom we may collaborate. We have started the process of harnessing councils' influence to lobby for positive change.
We will actively connect with planners all over New Zealand via requests for playgrounds in the planning stages when decisions are being made. If you would like to know more about our work or if you would like to contribute, please contact Glen McMillan by email or go to our contact page for more information.

We Want To Make A Difference Today!
We are our own sponsor, but we would love sponsors to come on board and help share the load. Our group of websites explained, firstly, who are the people developing these websites and why are we making them? Meet the person behind these. My name is Glen McMillan. I became a disabled child in 1970, at the age of ten, when I fell from my bike and hit my head. This was life-changing. Four years passed before I returned to school. I got out of the hospital at age 14.
This was the start of a life with a disability but also lots of ability—the ability to help others. So that is what I did and still do. I left school and took up a trade as an electronics technician. Over the years, I have had many businesses and also been an advocate for many people in many areas, including disability-related but also custody and legal issues.
I Am Disabled My body struggles sometimes, but my mind is strong and analytical, and I use mind power to overcome barriers!
On the subject of barriers and the creation of these websites, as a disabled child, I know and understand the struggles. I am now a disabled adult; age does not improve disability. I feel I am a victim of ACC not playing by the rules. So because I was once a disabled child, when the opportunity came up to help and make life better for our current disabled children, I happily used my skills to better the lives of others. Children with Disability NZ became a charity. As I aged, I found my disability slowed me down physically, and barriers were popping up—not natural barriers but built ones.
It became clear that I was living in a world built by and for able-bodied people. The disabled were being forgotten. I became deputy chair on my local council's disability advisory group; this was so frustrating. Group members gave their best, but barriers remained. I started Disability Advisory Group NZ on the web and Facebook. I wanted to run a professional organization with ears open; this has been done. ACC In 2016, I had yet another accident that resulted in me losing my ability to safely move within the environment and society.
ACC used underhanded tactics to decline the claim. I am my own lawyer, and I had them beat, but no, they act outside the law. Now I needed help but could not find it. Finally, after lots of stress, I found an ACC advocate, but I struggled to accept that I needed help. Help was so hard to find. ACC Advocates the website was born, finding an advocate was hard fighting ACC a huge battle. My website, ACC Advocates NZ, attempts to put as much correct information as possible into the hands of people looking for help.
